This isn’t the “something awesome” I was talking about yesterday, but we got this in the mail yesterday and thought it was funny.
Happy New Year everyone. Last night Kristin and I went to a neighbors house, played some Dance, Dance Revolution, and were in bed by ten. We stayed up to watch the ball drop, and by 12:15 everything was off and we were asleep. Pretty rockin’ huh?
What did everyone else do last night.

Watched a movie until 11:30. HAd an ice cream sundae with my wife until 11:45. Watch Dick Clark until 12:02. Went to bed. Listened for the next 23 minutes to my neighbors fire off round after round with their fire arms. There are perks to living in the middle of no where, but on July 4 and New Years eve you need a bullet proof vest. Not a perk.
Happy New Year!
what does Rob Bell have to do with your New Year’s Eve Celebratory escapades?
fair enough … i just read your letter to the editor … still, though, the connection escapes me.
Played Guitar Hero 2 and 3 with a dozen friends for a couple hours, drank the smallest amount of New Year’s wine, watched the ball drop and was asleep by 2am. Slept in this morning and will relax the remainder of the day.
Ahhhh.
touché!
Welcomed the New Year with a Root Beer Float and friends.
I chilled with a college/high school group at a church from 7 till 12:30ish. I mostly played lots of basketball and had a great time… but a knee to the thigh can really hurt!
Saw the letter yesterday when I got my Relevant. I felt a strange sense of pride in reading it, since, you know, you and I don’t actually know each other…
I saw that yesterday in Relevant! Well done. I cracked up- I love their responses.
The band played at 3:00 am for a New Years event. I napped 9:30p-12:00a so I wouldn’t fall asleep onstage. I’m getting too old for this.
I did some illegal fireworks that I brought across four state lines… they were loud and awesome. Took some M-60’s and threw them at various individuals trying to time them to pop right when they landed by their feet (very hard to do, although I did get one just right by my sister). We also just hung out by a bon fire and chilled a little bit before shooting off the fireworks.
Oh, and very nice comment. Very nice.
By the way, how is Dance Dance Revolution on the Wii? Cool Mum is interested, but the reviews aren’t encouraging.
I went to Naples with the family, and had a party with some friends of my parents. We ate some food and did a dollar store gift exchange thingy where I got a nice grape relief painting thingy and a yellow hand towel. At 12, we lit some fireworks, and since this house is literally in the middle of nowhere, there were no complaining neighbors. My dad almost caught on fire, though. It’s happened to him before, so he’s had enough. Since nobody who went to the party lived anywere near Naples, EVERYONE [about 15-20 people] sleptover. I stayed up until 3 am, though most people stayed up until around 4-6 am, my dad ’stayed up’ until 9 am, and one guy didn’t even sleep. Fun stuff it was.
Just curious … were you being serious about Rob getting the cover?
Was I serious about thinking he should? Yeah. You can’t mess the guys name up like that and not give him something… It was sort of a joke though.
We beat you, we flew all day and were in bed and asleep by 9:30 thanks to the time difference and the complete exhaustion of flying with three little kids. I wish I could have seen you playing dance, dance revolution, doesn’t that require you move fast?
Changing the world, one LttE at a time.
Congrats on being witty enough to get your letter published. I’m sure you weren’t the only one to write after a poobah like that. It makes one wonder whether they had that idea in their minds already, or if you sparked it for them.

I remember Chad whining to me about that. Like I can do anything.
haha
That is very funny though. And you’ll notice that the Glorious Unseen spotlight is written by someone of note.
My New Year’s Eve was spent at a worship and prayer vigil called The Burn. burn24-7.com…it’s an amazing movement and some big things are on the horizon with them.
I got to spend it with my best friend from Jr. High!!! Hadn’t seen her in more years than I can count. Great reunion for me. Fun night. Thanks for asking. Happy New Year, Brody!
We have a New Years tradition that sounds sort of wicked but is really cool. We burn Christmas trees in our backyard. Have you ever seen a nice dry Frasier Fir go up in flames? They are totally consumed in like 10 seconds via the hottest blaze since King Neb’s fiery furnace. No lie.
btw, great nanananabooboo photo.
