“Saddam Hussein, who was accused of killing more than 100,000 civilians during his 23-year rule over oil-rich Iraq, was hanged early this morning in Baghdad for crimes against humanity for a 1982 massacre of Shiite Muslims.
He was 69.
The dictator was led to the gallows by several masked men, images broadcast by Iraqi TV showed. Hussein was bareheaded and wearing a dark coat and white shirt. He had a “swift” death, Iraqi officials who witnessed the execution said in interviews on Al Arabiya TV. Hussein declined to make any final comments and refused to wear a hood, the officials said.”

You know. I have been thinking about this since last night.

On one hand, I say it is about time. This man killed many innocent people and made thousands more suffer.

On the other hand, I am just mot sure. It just seems like we are celebrating someone being executed and that just doesn’t feel right.

So I just ist here quietly waiting for the next big news event to come along so I can forget about it. Which I am not sure is the right way to go about it either.

Check it out. I tried to be a little less antagonistic this time.

I would have thrown the lever if they’d let me.
