Louisville, KY (Part Two)
The Louisville Palace is a venue worth mentioning and showing a few pictures. We are here tonight… without Tom Cruise.

Columbus, OH
I couldn’t find anything clever or interesting about Columbus, Ohio, and since I haven’t actually “written” anything for a few days, I thought this would be a good time.
The last three days have been “travel days”, meaning travel at night and hang out in a certain city during the day. After we left Sacramento, we woke up in Salt Lake City, and had the entire day to somehow entertain ourselves. Luckily we were able to talk the band into allowing us to take the scooters along with us. There were only nine of us that stayed with the busses, while the rest flew home to be with their families during Halloween, so we each were able to have a scooter to putt around on all day. With no place really to go, we ended up terrorizing a Wal-Mart parking lot, eating bad food at Denny’s, and stopping at a closed down tattoo shop. Other than that, we basically drive around, tried not to break too many laws, and tried harder to not crash.
The next morning we woke up in Denver. The busses dropped us right downtown, so there was no place to keep the scooters for the day, but plenty going on in the middle of the city. This was the most time I have been able to spend in Denver, which happens to be an amazing city. We grabbed a quick lunch and then we all decided to go bowling. We were the only ones in the bowling alley, so we were able to make as much noise as we wanted, until we noticed a man with a “news” camera in the corner. He came over and asked if he could film us bowling. Now the challenge to impress had begun. I am a horrible bowler, especially in front of a camera, but it was fun. One of the Denver Nuggets was supposed to be there around the same time we were so the camera man was just waiting for him to show up. Once he did arrive, the bowling alley kept giving us free games, I assume, to make it look like the building was full. After that we saw a movie, and went to dinner, then back on the bus to Kansas City.
We woke up in the hotel parking lot near downtown Kansas City. I am the guy who has to run inside and make sure everyone has rooms, so I was awake and ran out into the freezing air. Once at the front desk, I was told by the clerk that the credit card that I had been using to bring all these people across the country was now not working. Apparently credit card companies don’t agree with as much travel as we have been doing. Everything worked out fine and we were back on the scooters to annoy the “upper-class” folks that chose to shop in “The Plaza” this particular day. Yesterday pretty much consisted of driving around, again, trying not to break too many actual traffic laws. Then back on the bus for the long haul to Columbus.
For the most part, they were pretty good days off. I can’t say I wouldn’t have rather been home, but if you have to stay out, this was the way to do it.
So here we are at Ohio State, getting ready for another show. Tomorrow is Louisville, KY, so maybe there will be something more interesting to post about. One thing I do know… my wife and little boys will be at the show tomorrow so it’s guaranteed to be the best day of the week.
Anniversary One
It was one year ago today. The air was brisk, the sky was dark. Our kids ran yard to yard, managing to accumulate mass amounts of sugar based products.
“Hello, I’m Shaun, how are you?”
“Good, how are you?”
From that point on Shaun Groves and I have been friends, neighbors, and “bloggers”.
Happy Anniversary Shaun. Here’s to another year of hanging out in the cul-de-sac watching our kids, discussing Christian Music Industry flaws, and dreaming about the future. I will see you soon.
