For me there are a few times when a singer so perfectly melds with a song that you can’t imagine it sung by anyone else. And if someone else sings it you only find yourself wanting to hear them sing it. Billy Joel: Piano Man, Elton John:Your Song, Billy Holliday: Strange Fruit, Dylan: Like a Rolling Stone, Lennon:Imagine, McCartney: Blackbird, Garland: Over the Rainbow,

    Jeff Buckley: Hallelujah

    Its like they hypmotize you.
