This one is for my brother in law, who I think, secretly has a man crush on this guy. I don’t know why, and don’t really want to know, but here it is… “The Rock” singing about Sacramento. Also, another little fact about this lovely city…. I grew up here. It’s cool to be here and be able to look around a little. I’m going to try to be out of the office as much as possible today, to hang out with my parents and sisters family. I do have some stuff to say about the actual show, but I will save that for another post.

Jeff Buckley (November 17, 1966 – May 29, 1997), born in Anaheim, CA as Jeffrey Scott Buckley and raised as Scottie Moorhead, was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist.
Known for his vocal range of 4 octaves and tone quality, Buckley was considered by critics to be one of the most promising artists of his generation after the release of his 1994 debut album Grace. However, at the height of his popularity, Buckley drowned during an evening swim in 1997. His work and style continue to be highly regarded by critics and fellow musicians.

He intended to make a successful horror film on a small budget (reportedly $19,000). The result was a movie considered among the worst films ever made. The movie remained in almost complete obscurity until 1992 when it was featured in an episode of the television comedy series Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Colorado Springs, CO
In 1899, Nikola Tesla decided to move and began research in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he would have room for his high-voltage, high-frequency experiments. Upon his arrival he told reporters that he was conducting wireless telegraphy experiments transmitting signals from Pikes Peak to Paris. Tesla’s diary contains explanations of his experiments concerning the ionosphere and the ground’s telluric currents via transverse waves and longitudinal waves. At his lab, Tesla proved that the earth was a conductor, and he produced artificial lightning (with discharges consisting of millions of volts, and up to 135 feet long). Tesla also investigated atmospheric electricity, observing lightning signals via his receivers. Reproductions of Tesla’s receivers and coherer circuits show an unpredicted level of complexity (e.g., distributed high-Q helical resonators, radio frequency feedback, crude heterodyne effects, and regeneration techniques). Tesla stated that he observed stationary waves during this time. In the Colorado Springs lab, he “recorded” signals of what he believed were extraterrestrial radio signals, though these announcements and his data were rejected by the scientific community.
Oddly enough, yesterday was a day off in Colorado Springs and we went to see The Prestige, and the entire movie is based in either London or Colorado Springs and David Bowie played Tesla. It was a pretty good movie, a pretty good waste of nearly three hours, and a good day off. Tonight we are at the World Arena, then off to El Paso, Texas.

Kansas City, MO (Part Two)
The last time I was in this building was Thursday, March 23rd. I didn’t remember the building until I walked in, but as soon as I saw the tunnel just behind the stage, I remembered that this was the tunnel that I was talking to my wife in when she told me she was pregnant with our third child. Now, eight months later, here I am again. The baby still is on the way (remember we are taking bets?) and it’s a little weird that I would be in this building in Kansas City twice throughout this pregnancy. I thought that was weird. And I thought I would share.
