The “Alliance” has been playing shows every Tuesday night for all of August and now stretching it into September. Whoever is in town, is who plays, usually rotating every song or two. Andrew Peterson was there again last night for the second week in a row. He only played one song about a Pope that was really a woman, but his song writing still amazes me. Andrew Osenga played three songs, as well as Sandra McCracken (including one with husband Derek Webb). One of my favorites last night was a guy named Eric Peters who only played one song the week before, but was able to play three this week. The three he picked this week were winners, and made me want to go out and buy his CD. For the most part a very casual place to hang out (if you aren’t claustrophobic) and a fun place to be involved in some of the best song writing around. Popularity: 5% [?] |

I usually pride myself on having a decent memory, (except when it comes to names) but there is something about specific names of products that I refuse to “remember”. Movie titles and characters is a big one. “Yeah, the other day we went to see… ahh, you know that movie, with ummm… the guy from The Office….” By this time my wife, or someone else has chimed in and rescued me from actually having to release specific names and/or characters. Then I am free to conclude my comment on that specific thing. It’s stupid, but I won’t apologize because it’s not hurting anyone. Popularity: 6% [?] |
